Internet casinos have the same poker rules for online poker as the
rules found in any other standard poker game. The two popular poker
games are Seven-Card Stud and Texas Hold 'Em. In both games you are
served with 5 cards which represent your hand, and the hand with
highest rank wins. It sounds quite simple so let’s discuss the ranks
before you are ready to gamble online.
Generally there are ten possible hands. Here they are from highest to lowest:
1. Royal Flush: You need to have 5 cards of the same suit in order
from ten to ace (10, J, Q, K, A).
2. Straight Flush: You need to have 5 cards of the same suit in order
but it is not a necessity that it is the highest. A straight flush can
be 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6; as long as it's five in a row.
3. Four of a Kind: You need to have 4 cards of the same value in any
suit (four sevens, four queens, etc).
4. Full House: You need to have 3 cards of the same value and two of another.
5. Flush: You need to have 5 cards of same suit, order doesn't matter.
6. Straight: You need to have 5 cards in ranking order, regardless of suit.
7. Three of a Kind: You need to have 3 matching value cards of any suit.
8. Two Pair: You need to have two of one card, two of another and of any suit.
9. Pair: You need to have two matching cards.
10. High Card: If no other player has any of the above combination's,
then the person with the highest card in their hand (Ace being the
best) wins.
